[Autographs] The GAUTIER Family: - Théophile GAUTIER (Tarbes, 1811–1872), poet, novelist, and art critic. Partially handwritten bill of exchange, drawn on Théophile Gautier on March 30, 1846, by Gillet, the eldest son, signed in the novelist’s own hand. (1 page, in-4) - Théophile GAUTIER Jr. (1836–1904), man of letters, translator, dancer, and administrator, son of the writer Théophile Gautier and his mistress Eugénie Fort. A signed autograph letter reserving an office on Rue Contrescarpe in the name of Prince Radziwill (1 page, in-12). - Judith GAUTIER, known after her marriage as Madame Catulle Mendès (1845–1917), woman of letters, daughter of the writer. Three signed autograph letters addressed to Alexandre Hepp: the first offering to contribute to his newspaper *La Dépêche d’Orient*—“I may, perhaps, be able to contribute usefully (...) by providing you, each week, with a review of Chinese and Japanese periodicals,” a second thanking him for his contributions to her newspaper, and a third, illustrated, thanking him “for the charming way in which you have glorified *La Libellule*” [a collection of poems translated from Japanese, *Les poèmes de la Libellule*]. (5 pages, in-12 format; two of the letters bear the letterhead of 30 rue Washington).
