Important Napoleon III period mantel set in the Louis XVI st - Lot 122
Important Napoleon III period mantel set in the Louis XVI style, in kiln blue porcelain and gilt bronze, of baluster form. It includes a clock adorned with cherubs and garlands of flowers, flanked by lions' heads. The enameled dial, with Roman numerals and "chemin de fer" minute track, is signed "Martin Fres, Boulevard des Italiens". It is accompanied by a pair of seven-light candelabra, resting on a twisted shaft on an octagonal base. Height: 70 cm (one foot to be reattached to the clock, torsion of the central stem of the clock which needs to be straightened )
