Caged Love" clock in chased and gilded bronze.
The Roman numeral dial, set in a hexagon decorated with scrolls and foliage, is set in a terminal framed by two griffins. The upper part is surmounted by a feminine figure draped in antique style, depicting Venus, who has just placed the supplicant Love in a cage and is gesturing to him. The whole rests on a rectangular base with a projecting top adorned with a bas-relief frieze decorated with putto, winged lions, quivers and stylized flaming torches. Ends on claw feet.
